NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF BAD POSTURE & HOW TO IMPROVE IT

Unhealthy lifestyle and sitting hunched over in front of a screen for hours everyday has it's consequences. Most people don't even realize how badly we've ruined our posture over the years and it's harmful effects on our health. Not only does it lead to unnecessary back and shoulder pain, limit flexibility & reduce muscle strength but this posture becomes second nature to us. Do this exercise : Stand with your back against the wall, Does your head touch the wall naturally? If the answer is no, then it's time to change.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF BAD POSTURE:

  1. INCREASES STRESS AND HEADACHES

Posture affects our mood drastically. Next time you're sad or depressed, go take a look in the mirror, most probably you're slouching and your belly is hanging out. Bad posture decreases your energy levels, leading to feeling irritated & tired.

  1. NECK, SHOULDER & BACK PAIN

Sitting hunched over at a desk for long hours puts a lot of stress on your upper body especially when it's not supported properly. This can often lead to slipped-disks or misalignment of spine! As a result the stress needs to be redistributed, putting a lot of stress on supporting joints leading to joint pain.

  1. NERVE CONSTRICTION

The spine being bent all the time is forced up against the nerves causing severe pain & dysfunction in our nervous system. This can lead to spinal conditions such as scoliosis, kyphosis & lordosis.

CORSETS TO THE RESCUE

Corsets have long been used to correct posture dating as far back to the mid-19th to early 20th century. An underbust corset or any corset for that matter makes you stand up tall while supporting your lower back, encouraging good posture. But for someone with hunched shoulders a corset which is high in the back or a Waist Trainer Vest will help them keep the entire back in it's place and force the shoulders upright. There are some arm shapers we sell that also help keep shoulders from rolling forward.

Corsets help you realign your back preventing you from developing scoliosis. And people who have scoliosis benefit from using a corset as it restructures their spine and supports their back reducing the pressure put on it.

The extra support decreases pressure on the ligaments as well as joints preventing osteoporosis and certain forms of arthritis like fibromyalgia.

Regular use of a corset makes your muscles relearn the proper posture so you're less likely to slouch without extra support. Good Posture helps you breathe freely, reducing fatigue and anxiety.

Corsets help your body regain it's original shape, keeps your spine strong and your waist slim for that extra confidence for years to come.
